The Central Illinois Community Blood Center in conjunction with the Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center has implemented a new online scheduling and rewards program called Impact. The Blood Center has requested that we forward the information to our donors so that if they are interested in signing up for the program they will have the information they need. This is a voluntary program and if you choose not to participate, you would still be able to donate at our blood drives or at the Blood Center. Clinical employment opportunities will be highlighted at an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, April 11. SIU Medicine invites those interested in nursing, medical assisting and medical office positions to speak with representatives from a variety of departments and divisions about clinical job opportunities. Benefits and employment counselors from the Office of Human Resources will also be available.
The open house will be located at 327 W. Calhoun Ave. in Springfield. Parking is available on the street, in the lot next to the building and in the lot across the street.
The 2017 Women’s Power Lunch Against Cancer will feature Karen Mills, comedian and ovarian cancer survivor. Proceeds from the eighth annual event will benefit all cancer research at Simmons Cancer Institute at Southern Illinois University School of Medicine in Springfield.
